I am hard of hearing and finally conceded to getting a deaf doorbell after missing too many deliveries. I tried a few different systems that were cheap and claimed to "strobe" their light, but when I tested them, they were merely dim, flashing, LEDs. That's note "strobe"! Safeguard's light on their receivers *are* strobe, and the light will successfully bounce off home walls so you don't necessarily have to be staring right at the plugged in receiver to see the light. Plus the sound option is much louder! Both the 1000 ft. range and 4000 ft. range versions are great not only for distance, but penetrating the many layers of sheet rock, plaster, and brick in my old house. I have one strobing receiver in the living room, and one in the bedroom, and also got SafeGuard's amazing portable receiver! So I can carry it with me when I walk the dog, run across the street to the bodega, or when I'm in the back yard. Or give it to a neighbor friend to know when my bell was rung for a package or a utility company, to let them in when I'm not home. And because you can sync recievers to doorbell-button-transmitters yourself (which Safeguard made easy), you can add to and change up your system as much as you like! Even have different doorbells ring different sounds to the same reciever/speaker/strobe!!! (like if you have one on a side door and one on a front door). Oh!! And the electronics on the doorbell box are sealed by TWO silicone rings, so you can be sure you won't get "ghost bells" from when it is humid out or raining and just a bit of moister allows a contact on the circuit to ring the bell — this is a huge problem with a LOT of remote/plug-in doorbells I've seen, of all kinds. They are a bit more cost than other models out there, but those are *cheap* and don't deliver the same deaf-accommodating results at all! These are VERY well made and of course, how great to support a disabled vets' business when they aren't given near enough by the government!
