The ERA-PBDCR wireless door chime kit provides a long-range entrance alert solution for businesses and larger homes. It combines the ERA-PBTX wireless push button transmitter with the ERA-DCRX four-zone chime receiver, both part of the Safeguard Supply ERA Series. When someone presses the push button at the door, the signal can travel up to 4,000 feet in line-of-sight conditions to the receiver, which plays a chime tone and can operate additional equipment through its built-in outputs.
This kit is suited for retail entrances, warehouse and shop doors, service counters, and gated entries where a wired doorbell is impractical or the distance is too great for standard wireless systems. The push button is designed for outdoor mounting, while the receiver is intended for indoor use on a desk, counter, or wall.
The ERA-PBTX is the wireless push button included with this kit. It functions as a doorbell button and entry alert transmitter, sending a radio signal to compatible ERA receivers when the button is pressed. The transmission range is rated up to 4,000 feet in line-of-sight conditions, allowing the button to be mounted at distant doors, gates, or building entrances while the receiver is located deep inside the building.
The push button housing is built for outdoor use and is resistant to typical weather conditions such as rain and sun. A halo-style LED around the button illuminates when pressed, confirming activation to the person at the door and improving visibility in low-light conditions. The ERA-PBTX is powered by an internal lithium coin-cell battery designed for multi‑year service in normal use.
For a standard installation, the ERA-PBTX is mounted at the main customer entrance or another frequently used door. The button can be installed on wood, metal, or masonry surfaces with appropriate fasteners, ensuring that it is securely fixed and easily reachable for visitors. In some applications it may be mounted at a gate or side door to alert staff when deliveries or visitors arrive away from the main entrance.
Because of the long wireless range, care should be taken to orient the button generally toward the building where the ERA-DCRX receiver is located, and to avoid obstructing the path with large metal objects when possible. Once installed, the button is paired to a zone on the receiver and tested by pressing it and confirming that the selected tone plays and the zone indicator lights as expected.
The ERA-DCRX is a multi-zone wireless receiver designed for commercial and business door chime applications. It can be placed on a desktop or mounted on a wall and is powered by a 12V DC plug-in adapter. The receiver supports four zones, and each zone can have one or more transmitters assigned to it. When the ERA-PBTX is activated, the receiver plays the tone assigned to that zone and lights the corresponding zone indicator.
The ERA-DCRX provides twelve selectable melodies and four volume settings. The maximum volume is roughly 85–90 dB at close range, which is loud enough for many shops, offices, and warehouse areas. Volume is adjusted via a front-panel control so it can be set to an appropriate level for the environment.
In addition to playing chimes, the ERA-DCRX includes four 12V DC outputs and a C‑FORM relay that can be used to trigger external devices. Each zone has its own 12V DC output terminal that can be configured to activate when a transmitter assigned to that zone is triggered. This allows connection of accessories such as small strobes, bells, or sirens, within the rated current of the outputs.
The C‑FORM relay provides a set of dry contacts that can be wired to external equipment that expects a contact closure, such as a larger bell, an alarm panel, or an automation controller. The relay can be associated with specific zones and set to follow the same activation time as the corresponding 12V output, which is typically adjustable between several seconds and a couple of minutes.
Once installed, the ERA-PBTX push button serves as the user-facing interface at the door or gate. When a visitor presses the button, the transmitter immediately sends a radio signal to the ERA-DCRX receiver. The receiver recognizes which zone the button belongs to, lights that zone indicator, and plays the selected chime tone. If a 12V accessory or relay output has been configured for that zone, it is activated for the programmed time as well.
Because additional transmitters can be added to other zones, the ERA-PBDCR kit can serve as the base of a multi-entrance alert system. Different doors or entry points can be assigned different tones and zones so staff can tell which location has activity just by listening and checking the receiver’s indicator lights.
Both the ERA-PBTX and ERA-DCRX are part of the Safeguard Supply ERA Series. The ERA-DCRX can receive signals from a range of ERA transmitters, including driveway sensors, indoor motion sensors, universal transmitters, and additional push buttons. The ERA-PBTX can also transmit to other ERA receivers such as plug-in or portable units that may be added later.
This flexibility allows the ERA-PBDCR kit to be expanded into a broader alert system that covers multiple doors, gates, and approach areas. Additional receivers can be added as needed, and there is no fixed limit to how many receivers can listen to the signal from a single ERA-PBTX push button.
